Viewpoint
Viewpoint is a group exhibition that brings together five artists working with photography: Einar Falur Ingólfsson, Elvar Örn Egilsson, Jói Kjartans, María Kjartans and Snædís Malmquist.
Photographs shape how we see the world, and Iceland is
no exception. Over the past decade, postcard-perfect landscapes have commanded Iceland’s public image, but that only tells half the story.
Viewpoint explores Iceland’s other sides, from mundane moments and people-led protests to mountains obscured by local supermarkets. Each artist presents the island through their own lens, creating a view that’s stranger, richer and ultimately truer.
Opening 1 June 17:00
Opening Hours: Daily 12:00–17:00
Accessibility
The exhibition takes place in an unfinished retail space in the new Landsbanki building on the corner of Reykjastræti and Tryggvagata. A low ramp leads into the space. The floor is rough concrete. There are two spacious restrooms in the space, but they do not have support rails. Accessible restrooms are available at Hafnartorg, across from the space. There are five designated parking spaces for people with disabilities in the parking garage on Reykjastræti. There are also two spaces on Pósthússtræti.
