Reykjavik Arts Festival will take place 30 May-14 June 2026.

An art exhibition at Akureyri Art Museum in rooms 10 and 11 by the Swiss artist Zimoun. There are sound installations in both halls. Everyday objects are activated with electric motors so that the objects emit sound. In the artist's previous works, these have been, for example, sticks that spin and bounce loosely on the outside of a cardboard box or tennis balls that hang from a string, attached to a motor so that the ball bounces continuously. In Zimoun's exhibition at Akureyri Art Museum, he will, for example, use buoys in his installation. Due to the nature of the work, there is a constant sound in the exhibiton halls. 
The sound level is expected to be moderate, i.e. not unpleasant. 
The halls have even lighting and the works are also lit with spotlights. 
The exhibition does not require any language skills, but introductory material about the works is in Icelandic and English. 
The exhibition is suitable for both adults and children. Guests can enter and leave the halls as they please.

The exhibition takes place inside the Akureyri Art Museum.
Indoor access is generally good. Elevators in the lobby reach all galleries.

Accessible toilets are located to the left of the reception on the 1st floor and to the right when exiting the elevator on the 3rd floor.

A loaner wheelchair is available at reception.

One designated accessible parking space is located to the left of the main entrance.

A quiet, enclosed but publicly accessible relaxation space is located on the 4th floor.
