The Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Reykjavík Arts Festival present a fascinating evening with composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, showcasing her work in recent years.
Hildur is one of the leading film composers of our time and has earned many accolades, including Emmy and Grammy Awards in 2019 for her score for the TV series Chernobyl and an Oscar in 2020 for her score for the film Joker. Here she hosts an evening where she shares insights into her work and influences, and her approach to strengthening a film's narrative with dynamic music. The program is composed of Hildur's own music, including works from the films Joker, Tár, and
A Haunting in Venice, as well as music that has had a great influence on Hildur over the years will also be performed, including works by Arvo Pärt, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Mika Levi, Kaija Saariaho and Alvin Lucier.
