Ticket sales for events with Hildur Guðnadóttir started

Hildur Guðnadóttir is artist-in-residence at Reykjavík Arts Festival 2026, and three events will showcase her music. Today, ticket sales began for two events, Where to From in Silfurberg and a concert by the Hallgrímskirkja Choir featuring works by Hildur and Jón Nordal. Tickets sales to Nærmynd, a concert with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, are already on sale.

Where to From

On Saturday, 6 June at 20:00, Hildur and her ensemble will perform the new work Where to From as well as her earlier works in Harpa’s Silfurberg.

Hildur says of the piece:

“I have a fairly constant stream of music in my head. Sometimes I record this stream, and it becomes a kind of snapshot of my emotions at that moment. Where to From is my audio diary. I’m excited to open it up to the audience at Harpa, together with good friends.”

Generations in Harmony: Hildur Guðna and Jón Nordal

At the concert with Hallgrímskirkja Choir on Sunday 7 June at 17:00, we turn our gaze to the past, present, and future and explore the connections in between. Two influential composers are set in contrast: Hildur on the one hand and Jón Nordal on the other, who would have turned 100 years old in the spring of 2026.

A selection of Hildur’s choral works will be performed alongside Jón’s masterpiece, Óttusöngvar á vori (1993) for choir, soprano, countertenor, organ, cello, and percussion. Among the performers is the soloist Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir, and the conductor is Steinar Logi Helgason.
