Accessibility description

Wheelchair

The exhibition takes place on the 1st floor of the National Museum of Iceland.
Access is generally good. The main doors are automatic sliding doors, and there are no thresholds at the entrance. Moving through the building is easy.

All exhibition spaces are served by two elevators—one near the reception and another at the north end of the building. There are no thresholds inside the galleries, and ramps are present in the permanent exhibition as needed.

For the opening concert, chairs will be arranged, and wheelchair seating can be arranged anywhere as requested. No advance booking is required.

Benches without armrests are available in the exhibition space.

A loaner wheelchair is available at the museum’s reception.

The accessible toilet is located among the other toilets in the basement and is reachable directly from the elevator near reception.

There are two designated accessible parking spaces directly in front of the museum’s main entrance.
