Endurlit - detailed accessibility

Accessibility description

Wheelchair with Exclamation Mark

The exhibition takes place at Ystasel 37, which was Hallsteinn’s studio and residence. The exhibition is held both inside the house and on the field in front of the house. Access to the house is good. Parking spaces are located directly in front of the entrance. A ramp leads into the studio, and it is easy to move around the space. There is an approximately 2 cm threshold between the studio and the living area.

In the living area, there is a spacious toilet with a sink, but no grab bars. The toilet is located next to a bathtub. Access for larger wheelchairs may be limited. The exhibition is not held on the upper floor of the house, which is only accessible via a steep staircase.

Part of the exhibition takes place on the field in front of the house. There are no walking paths on the field. A gently sloping incline leads from the parking area down onto the field. Better access is available via the walking path above the field, near Ölduselsskóli. The walking path is paved and runs in a loop around the field.

The toilet is gender-neutral.

There is a playground and lush green areas near the house. The area is therefore especially well suited for families with children.
