Artistic Director's Vision

Reykjavík Arts Festival is a festival for all the people of the country, and although it takes place largely in the capital area, we make every effort to share events through radio and television broadcasts and to offer events in rural communities in collaboration with cultural institutions and artists throughout the country.

The Festival encourages collaboration between different art forms, institutions, and independent artists, and promotes outstanding artistic creation.

The Festival invites us to pause and reflect on our perspectives through forward-looking events, both domestic and international. It introduces us to different cultures and sheds a new light on our world. It gives us the opportunity to experience through our own unique lens, each in our own way, and to awaken the senses.
