Topless young women challenge the besuited, middle-aged, male image of power with which they grew up with.

We see topless young women who pose with a determined, strong attitude next to paintings, photographs and statues of men in public spaces. They stare directly into the camera, challenging the besuited, middle-aged, male image of power with which they grew up with. These women are here to stay. DEMONCRAZY is a series of oversized photographs exhibited in the heart of the city.

Borghildur lives and works in Reykjavík. She has a master’s degree in Architecture from Universität der Künste, Berlin. She worked at Studio Olafur Eliasson in 2015 and 2016.She has collaborated with various artists and directors in the creation of installation and theatre projects such as MEAT shown in Schaubühne and as an actress and designer for Club Inferno staged by Volksbühne in Berlin. She now works with architect Vilhjálmur Hjálmarsson and independently as a curator and artist.
