The Festival was opened by Mrs Thorgerdur Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, Minister of Culture and Education at the National Gallery of Iceland.
Among artists performing were Hamrahlídarkórinn choir, Ghostigital and Konono N°1. At the same time, the exhibition COBRA REYKJAVÍK will open at the National Gallery.

San Francisco ballet

It might seem unnecessary to introduce the San Francisco Ballet to an Icelandic audience. The Artistic Director Helgi Tómasson has created a show specially designed for an Icelandic audience, based on some of the ballets Tómasson has choreographed for his company.

Dmitri Hvorovstovsky was born in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, where he completed his musical training. He made his operatic stage debut in the West in the Opera de Nice´s production of Tchaikovsky´s Pique Dame, and was immidiately showered with offers from many of the leading opera houses of the world.
