Opening Ceremony 2009
Reykjavik Arts Festival 2009 was opened May 15 by the Mayor of Reykjavik, Mrs Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir in Reykjavik Art Museum, Kjarvalsstaðir.
Among artists performing were the rolling sculptures Campingkvinner, Norvegian caravan women, by Marit Benthe Norheim, Reykjavik Big Band and Strange fruit, Australian performing artist on 4 meters high flexible poles, delivering a sublime performance, bending and swaying in the air.
