We seek to demonstrate that the many forms of artistic expression are drawn from the same source. On the most basic level, this is about involving the viewer in the artwork. Decoration, pop music and trivial literature do not demand the viewer's involvement; rather they support his sense of contentment and satisfaction.
Art demands the viewer's engagement and active participation in the work: content and communication are central to each work. The artist and the viewer, create a debate with the art as catalyst.
list&ast&list (art&love&art) is not intended as an opportunity for the audience to watch the artist at work, nor as an opportunity for the artist, as pedagogue, to engage the audience in the artistic process. Instead, it represents a meeting place between two equally important groups of people, who form the conditions in which a work of art can establish itself as an object of dialogue. list&ast&list attempts to expose this relationship by exposing time as a factor.
The artist's time spent on creating a piece of art melds with the time the viewer spends in assimilating/adapting it. The audience is, so to speak, adapted as a part of the artistic communication and the work becomes a meeting place in the process.
We aim to illustrate and extend time as a condition for the artistic process – to visualise the connection between the time the artist spends on creating the piece and the time the viewer spends adapting to it.
